A Little About Me

A friend of mine once said that I’ve had the coolest jobs of anyone she knows. And that was before I became an author.

To say I’ve enjoyed a varied career would be an understatement. It’s been a fantastic ride: journalism, the music industry, non-profit management in the business and child and youth sectors. And throughout - communications.

From all my experiences, I’ve gleaned bits and pieces that have inspired me to tell stories. Stories about women, politics, Canadian history, family.

In 2015, I realized my Great-Aunt Frankie and her sister Mattie worked in a munitions factory in WWI that had been right around the corner from my office in Toronto. A century earlier they had walked the same sidewalks to work. This inspired me to write my first novel.

And so, my next career begins.

And now … the official bio.

Amy Terrill, a King Charles III Coronation Medal recipient for her contributions to Canada and her community, has been involved in political discourse throughout her career. A Political Science graduate from Queen’s University, Amy has spent time as a journalist, government relations specialist, and not-for-profit leader. Writing has been a constant pursuit. This story was inspired by a family history written by her Great-Aunt Frankie and her experiences working in a WWI Toronto munitions factory.

An avid reader, writer and traveller, Amy lives with her husband on a farm in Kawartha Lakes, Ontario. This is her first work of fiction
